If you try to save a piece of content with a title that is exactly the same as another title on your website, you will receive the following "Duplicate Title Warning" error:

This warning will appear across content types, meaning an event and a news article with the same title will trigger the warning. It is good practice when creating new content on your website to give it a unique title. The title of your content is used to label and identify it; having two (or more) pieces of content with the same label can be confusing, which can lead to a poor user experience. It can also make it challenging to keep track of where information is located on your website.
The warning also provides links to the other content with the same title. You can review your duplicate content and determine if a name change is necessary for the new or old content, whether what you are creating can simply be added to your pre-existing page, or if the older content can be unpublished.
Overriding the error
In some circumstances, a duplicate title may be required, for example, during the brief period when both pages need to be published while transitioning from one page design to another, or when you have one public page and another that is unpublished. If you are sure you want to keep duplicate titles, check the box to override the warning and save your content again.
